This
is Mini-Mania, and a more beautiful working environment I have yet to
imagine.
Located in the Town of Nevada City, it is an old
mining town in the mountains at around 2500 ft above sea level.
The area is absolutely beautiful, and the people very
friendly. |

I was there in late October, it was warm, sunny,
dry and the temperature was around 70 degrees C.
I arrived on the Thursday and spent the day
sourcing the parts and equipment needed which included fibredisk pads
for the grinder, 2-pack glue to bond the kit on with, and both
red and white paint.
I had all this back at Autofashion HQ was was
unable to take it by air due to the airline restrictions. |

On the Friday work really started in earnest.
As you can see the skirts were removed, to ease
fitting of the majic skirts. It's just about to get dark in the photos
and as you can see we have only just got the front apron on.
To save time all parts were primed prior to bonding
on, and were then painted on the car.
Normally we would carry out both the priming and
fitting after they had been fitted and allowed to cure. |

We moved into the paint booth so we could see
whilst we fitted the rear apron, and then left Craig at around 10.00pm
to paint the car - he finished around 2.00am, and we returned at
8.00am to refit the car prior to it being loaded onto the trailer for
shipping to Vegas at around 12.00pm Saturday.
A very busy time but everyone seemed to agree it
was worth the effort. |

This Photo sums up the whole thing for me -
Finished car on Saturday morning in the glorious California sun, with
the truely stunning mountain wildlife in the background. |

Below you can see the car on display at the SEMA
show in Las Vegas. This show is very very impressive.
The car got a lot of attention at the show, and
even the legendary Paddy Hopkirk expressed interest.
Pictures of this car are still used on MiniMania US and MiniMania UK
websites, and magazine adverts - sometimes in Purple (photoshop)
version. |
